Just because it is cold outside does not mean that the fun must end! From holiday-themed food, to ice skating, to seeing A Christmas Carol, Milwaukee has so much to offer! Check out some of our favorite winter and Holiday activities below.
A Christmas Carol– Come see the classic showing of ‘A Christmas Carol’! There are several showings of this tale at the Pabst Theatre from November 27th-December 24th. This is the 43rd annual showing and even “broke box office records” last year!
A Charlie Brown Christmas Live– Watch your favorite cartoon characters come alive at the Riverside Theater. This is a one-day only showing on December 8th at 2PM and 6PM, so you may want to grab your tickets now!
Radiance NYE– Calling all EDM fans! On December 31st, the Wisconsin Center will be celebrating the New Year by hosting an all-night EDM show with performances from Excision, Zeds Dead, Bear Grillz and more! Keep an eye out in your UWM e-mail for student discounts.
Winter Activities and Events
Polar Bear Plunge– Grab your friends and start off the new year by taking the polar plunge into Lake Michigan! This traditional event will be taking place at Bradford Beach.
Ice Skating– Take advantage of FREE ice skating in the outdoors of Downtown Milwaukee at Red Arrow Park! The rink will be opening in mid-December. Skates are available for rent and ice sleds are available for those with mobility impairments.
Candlelight Walk– Come celebrate the longest night of the year with the Urban Ecology Center! The community will be getting together for a candlelit walk through Riverside Park. This event is taking place on December 15th starting at 7:00PM and will end by a fire with food, drinks and music!
Classic Food and Beverages
Red Elephant Chocolate’s Hot Cocoa– One of the most well-known places for hot chocolate is right here in the city of Milwaukee, located at Red Elephant Chocolate. Take a stroll through the Third Ward and stop here to grab yourself a mouth-watering cup of hot cocoa!
Milwaukee Public Market’s Gingerbread Houses– Adventure to Milwaukee’s Public Market on December 9th to make your own gingerbread house! A ticket must be purchased, and the Market will provide the gingerbread house and all the supplies. The event starts at 10AM- do not miss out on all the fun!
Christmas Around Milwaukee Bakery Bus Tour– Take a trip around Milwaukee in sampling some favorite holiday-themed baked goods. The tour will take place on most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during December. It lasts around 3 hours with 5-8 stops at some amazing local bakeries. Grab your tickets today!
