Neighborhood Relations

We assist neighbors who have questions or concerns about activity in the neighborhood, ranging from student behavior to construction challenges to general inquiries about the university. We also share information about UWM events and other areas of interest through the various neighborhood associations on the east side. UWM also sends representatives to area neighborhood meetings and other special events to answer questions and provide the latest information about projects and initiatives on campus.

Municipal Issues

We work with the Milwaukee Police Department, the Department of Neighborhood Services, Department of Public Works, and local neighborhood associations on important issues in the neighborhoods.

Campus Engagement

We partner with many offices on campus to bridge the town-gown gap, including programs such as UNITE (University-Neighborhood Initiative To Engage), which brings faculty and staff volunteers to visit student residences in a 100-block area to welcome them to the neighborhood each fall.
