Group Home Analysis Report

The care given to foster youth in staffed facilities can rightly be seen as part of a spectrum of out-of-home care options that includes more traditional foster care.  Given this view, it makes sense that group care staff would receive training that aligns philosophically and practically with the training foster families receive.

In order to effect this alignment, the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Bureau of Youth Services, requested that group care staff training be linked to Wisconsin’s foster parent training program soon to be overseen by the UW-Milwaukee Child Welfare Partnership (MCWP).
