In 2011, the MCWP opened the doors of our new Center for Learning in the East Lake Towers building (Glendale, WI) to better serve BMCW staff members, foster and adoptive families, and our community partners. Our spacious 9,600 square foot facility was specifically designed to meet the instructional needs of adult learners and encourage collaboration among partners dedicated to serving children and families in Milwaukee.
We are conveniently located off of the I-43 freeway, on a bus line, offer ample free parking, and an on-site café, which can accommodate group catering. Our location near the Bayshore Towne Center also provides close proximity to many convenient dining, shopping and overnight options.
Our center has significant classroom, conference, lab/consultation, child care, and kitchen space. A variety of instructional media and technologies are available to enhance the learning experience. Two microwaves and a full-size refrigerator are available for trainee use.
Weather Emergency Procedure
MCWP follows the same inclement weather policy as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. If UWM cancels classes, MCWP will also cancel classes. Should classes be canceled the University will make this decision by 7:00am for daytime classes and 4:00pm for evening classes. Training participants can find more information about inclement weather on the main UWM website. On days when classes are in session but weather conditions cause slow travel, we will allow for late arrival within a reasonable time frame.
