The Milwaukee Regional Veterans Affairs Office
The Milwaukee Regional VA Office administers a variety of services and benefits for Wisconsin’s veterans and their dependents, including service-connected disability compensation. Such services include determining disability levels, ensuring proper payment, benefits counseling, determining entitlement to specially adapted housing, and managing fiduciary services. The Regional Office is further committed to providing extensive outreach for demobilizing veterans as well as homeless veterans.

The VA Medical Center delivers primary, secondary, and tertiary medical care. The VA Medical Center also offers programs in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation, Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder care.

Milwaukee Vet Center
The Milwaukee Vet Center offers readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans and their families in the effort to make a successful transition from military to civilian life. Readjustment counseling can include individual, group, and family counseling, bereavement counseling, military sexual trauma counseling. The Milwaukee Vet Center also offers outreach, substance abuse assessment and referral, VBA benefits, and medical screenings and referrals.

Center for Veterans Issues – Headquarters
The Center for Veterans Issues offers transitional housing programs that assist people who are ready to move beyond emergency shelter into a more independent living situation. CVI’s transitional programs allow veterans to further develop the stability, confidence and coping skills needed to sustain permanent housing. Intensive case management makes the system work. Services provided to the residents include Screening, security, transportation, health and mental health services, food and nutrition programs, individual and family crisis counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, job training and education, housing counseling, budgeting assistance, house cleaning, and tenant rights and responsibilities.

Healing Warrior Hearts
Healing Warrior Hearts provides programs for military personnel and their families, dedicated to healing the emotional, moral and spiritual wounds of war. The Starfish Foundation, a 5013C charitable organization, sponsors Healing Warrior Hearts and offers the programs at no cost to military veterans and their families.
