The Mathematics of Neural Networks

“Neural networks are a powerful and extensively used tool in machine learning. However, many fundamental questions in the mathematical theory underpinning the use of neural networks remain open. This talk will introduce neural networks from a theoretical, mathematical point of view, survey some known results, and outline some open questions about the mathematical foundations of the theory of neural networks.”
