Reproduction Numbers and Functions in Structured Populations

Dr. Jozsef Farkas
Reader for Computing Science and Mathematics
University of Sterling

“The year of 2020 has brought infectious disease dynamics rather close to our doorsteps in an unprecedented and unfortunate fashion. Many of us have heard about the magical number R_0; although it might be difficult to see what it really has to to do with one’s everyday life. In this talk I am going to focus on this object in the context of, the much less harmful, structured population dynamics.”
