The start of a new academic year provides an opportunity to showcase the progress that MPS, MATC and UWM have made in forging a true public education network in Milwaukee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time of renewal also allows Milwaukee\u2019s three largest education institutions \u2013 which serve more than 130,000 students combined –  to reinforce our commitment to M\u00b3 (pronounced M-cubed) as we look to build upon a solid foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We got a glimpse into the future at a celebration in May for 32 MPS students who comprised the first graduating class of the Early College pilot program. (See the highlight video below.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MPS\u2019 four-year graduation rates are up, and more MPS seniors are completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). More details about our progress are available in this newsletter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is so much more to accomplish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mission and goals that are the foundation for our initial projects have led us to better understand how to work together for shared outcomes. Driven by early positive results, stakeholders from all three institutions met over the summer to exchange new ideas. We\u2019re in the process of reviewing them as we work together with the ultimate goal of taking M\u00b3 to the next level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this edition of M\u00b3 Connections<\/em>, you have the opportunity to learn more about all of these items plus an update on the M\u00b3 Parent Institute, which is expanding from high school into elementary and middle school grades, and M\u00b3\u2019s status a finalist for the University Economic Development Association\u2019s Awards of Excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We all thank you for your partnership as we develop students into critical thinkers, strong leaders, and innovators. Together, we have the power to transform the future of our community through education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
