{"id":1962,"date":"2026-06-04T16:17:53","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T21:17:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/m-cubed\/?p=1962"},"modified":"2026-06-04T16:18:45","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T21:18:45","slug":"more-mps-grads-going-to-matc-uwm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/m-cubed\/news\/more-mps-grads-going-to-matc-uwm\/","title":{"rendered":"More MPS grads going to MATC, UWM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-data-show-clear-impact-of-m-cubed-partnership-s-bridges-from-k-12-to-higher-education\"><em>Data show clear impact of M-Cubed partnership\u2019s bridges from K-12 to higher education<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>MILWAUKEE \u2013 More Milwaukee Public Schools graduates are attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Milwaukee Area Technical College, according to new data from the M-Cubed partnership that brings Milwaukee\u2019s three largest public educational institutions together.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M-Cubed builds bridges that help MPS students prepare for and go to college, regardless of their destinations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Efforts include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Academic and career plans for every MPS student that include college discussions,\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An M-Cubed Milwaukee Parent Institute to help MPS families navigate high school and college success,\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tours of MATC and UWM for thousands of MPS students each year,\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work-based learning opportunities at all three institutions so students can envision themselves in a career and the educational path to get there,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dual enrollment opportunities so MPS students can earn UWM and MATC college credits, including through M-Cubed College Connections,\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M-Cubed Smart Start bridge program that helps MPS students register for classes and start at MATC and UWM as a group, and more.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The data show:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Enrolled in the Fall 551 MPS Class of 2025 graduates went to MATC, a 32% increase from 419 in 2023\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>478 MPS Class of 2025 graduates went to UWM, a 61% increase from 297 in 2023<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Data show clear impact of M-Cubed partnership\u2019s bridges from K-12 to higher education MILWAUKEE \u2013 More Milwaukee Public Schools graduates are attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Milwaukee Area Technical College, according to new data from the M-Cubed partnership that brings Milwaukee\u2019s three largest public educational institutions together.&nbsp;
