As we partner to transform the future of Milwaukee through education and build the region\u2019s diverse talent pipeline, we recognize the importance of experiences outside a traditional educational setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this edition of Connections, you will meet Anthony Lynch, who works at We Energies and has reaped the rewards of work-based learning through M3<\/sup>. Across our three institutions, more than 5,500 students were engaged in work-based learning in the 2019\u201320 academic year through youth apprenticeships, internships, registered apprenticeships, student teaching, and clinical experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work-based learning will be the focus of our next M3<\/sup> webinar, Building the Region\u2019s Diverse Talent Pipeline<\/a>, at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Attendees will hear from the work-based learning experts at MPS, MATC, and UWM. Students and employer representatives will take part in a panel discussion led by M3<\/sup> partner Jerry Baake from Advocate Aurora Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our winter newsletter also features the story of Imunique Triplett, the first student to graduate from the nursing pathway in our fast-growing M3<\/sup> College Connections dual enrollment program. She earned her practical nursing diploma in December, six months before she will graduate from high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, during these coldest days of winter, we have teams looking ahead to summer and providing a \u201cSmart Start\u201d for MPS graduates heading to MATC and UWM. This program, designed to support incoming freshmen, is possible thanks to generous support from Herb Kohl Philanthropies and the Kohler Co.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
