{"id":1065,"date":"2021-11-19T16:13:44","date_gmt":"2021-11-19T22:13:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/m-cubed\/?p=1065"},"modified":"2023-06-14T11:22:40","modified_gmt":"2023-06-14T16:22:40","slug":"impact-report-m%c2%b3-partners-focused-on-closing-equity-gaps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/m-cubed\/news\/impact-report-m%c2%b3-partners-focused-on-closing-equity-gaps\/","title":{"rendered":"Impact Report: M\u00b3 partners focused on closing equity gaps"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In a year that underscored equity gaps in our community and across the nation, M<sup>3<\/sup> partners\u2014Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Area Technical College, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee\u2014remained focused and delivered on their commitment to close these gaps and transform the future of Milwaukee through education. As a partnership among public institutions serving diverse populations, M<sup>3<\/sup> is lifting up individuals, improving the community, and building the region\u2019s diverse workforce pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Success began in the fall of 2020, when 72% of M<sup>3<\/sup> College Connections graduates entered college after graduating high school, exceeding the national college enrollment rate. Each College Connections graduate earned as much as 21 college credits, saving graduates more than $750,000 in college costs over the past three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program continues to grow. M<sup>3 <\/sup>welcomed 120 College Connections students in the fall 2021 semester, quadruple the size of the inaugural class of 30 students in 2018-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is just one example of the partnership\u2019s collective work.
