Alycia Doxon is the Chief Operating Officer at Frontdesk and co-founder of Our.News. While at UWM she was the president of UWM Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) and was the winner of Lubar School’s Business Ethics Competition and Scheinfeld Entrepreneurial Awards Competition.
Alycia established herself in the entrepreneurial community through programs run by various UWM departments. She made an effort while at school to attend events on and off campus to broaden her network. The connections Alycia made in CEO and University Innovation Fellows led to her current position at Frontdesk.
“I‘ve found that at school you will learn a ton about how to efficiently solve problems and how to present your ideas to people, but practicing that in the community by meeting people and gathering feedback is the best and fastest way to iterate on new ideas.”
Her advice to new student innovators:
- Attend events and things off campus.
- Pay close attention to what is happening on and off campus.
