DESCRIPTION:The Lubar Entrepreneurship Center is excited to partner with the Accessibility Resource Center for this month’s Diverse Ideas talk. \nThe Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) at UWM is dedicated to providing equal access for students with disabilities to the University’s academic\, social\, cultural and recreational programs. The ARC provides comprehensive services and accommodations for students with disabilities as well as outreach and support to faculty and staff. The Accessibility Resource Center is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible University experience for all students. \nJoin us for lunch as we hear from ARC representatives about this on-campus resource designed to engage all students. \nDiverse Ideas is a talk series that partners with UWM offices to invite global and local entrepreneurs/community innovators for an intimate chat with UWM students\, faculty\, and staff. By offering these talks\, LEC hopes to build a larger and more diverse network of students involved in entrepreneurship\, including one that spans across disciplines and majors. Speakers share their stories and give advice in an open-forum conversation with attendees. Learn with us how to improve our community and work together to problem-solve.

Learn how to be spot-on when you’re put on the spot! \nPublic Speaking: Strategies for Effective Impromptu Responses  \nJoin Jennifer Kibicho\, PhD\, for a Hosted Brown Bag event and learn: \n\na five-step formula for successful impromptu speech\neight strategies to successfully respond to an impromptu question\nhow to practice the technique in a mini table-topic format\n\nJennifer Kibicho is an Associate Professor at UWM’s College of Nursing and Teaching Fellow at the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center. Outside of UWM\, Jennifer is the District 35 Toastmasters Director covering Wisconsin and Upper Peninsular Michigan with nearly 90 clubs and 1\,200 members. Since joining Toastmasters in 2014\, Jennifer has developed competent communication and leadership skills and has earned a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM)\, the highest recognition award for Toastmasters International. \n**Note: We support a healthy campus and abide by campus guidelines for COVID19 precautions. DESCRIPTION:Join us for coffee and conversation as we welcome Alexa Alfaro\, Co-Founder of Meat on the Street. Established in 2014\, Meat on the Street was founded between siblings Alexa and Matt Alfaro as Milwaukee’s first Filipino food truck. The company has since grown with multiple food trucks\, a catering service\, and a brick-and-mortar location. \n“Food is love in our household.” This morning conversation will surround topics of how food keeps us connected as well as learning about Alexa’s journey in starting and sustaining Meat on the Street.
