UWM LEC Buzzing with Summer Activity

The Lubar Entrepreneurship Center (LEC) is thriving with activity this summer. In addition to the many community events being run at the LEC, two programs, a Student Startup Challenge (SSC) Primer and a Summer Incubator program, are being held.

The LEC Summer Incubator program is every Thursday afternoon in the LEC, second floor landing. In this weekly program participants (UWM students, faculty, staff, community members, and more) discuss their startup challenges. Additionally, guest speakers are invited to present and discuss related topics that spark further conversation. For more info please contact LEC Director Brian Thompson.

The LEC is piloting a new program for student innovators to try out their entrepreneurial skills this summer. This new program, the Student Startup Challenge Primer Program, will be held  August 22nd through August 24th. This self-contained workshop is the perfect program to prep startup ideas for the upcoming Student Startup Challenge, network with mentors and peers, and to get a taste of the entrepreneurial tools available through the LEC. All levels are welcome, and no prior experience, ideas, or startups are necessary. Attendance for the duration of the event is required. For more info or to RSVP please contact Nathaniel Stern.

The Lubar Entrepreneurship Center has also been home to many different community programs this summer such as: gBETA, Scaleup MKE, NSF I-Corps, Islands of Brilliance, and SBIR Ready.

The staff and faculty of the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center are always working to bring more events, resources, and programs to the facility. Stop in to see what’s going on, what’s yet to come, and stay to hang out and network with other entrepreneurs. Come and enjoy the new LEC building!
