Tolkien\u2019s work. Upon her passing in 2005, Fonstad left her family an archive of\u00a0nearly 1,000\u00a0map drafts, many of them\u00a0based on Tolkien\u2019s\u00a0The Lord of the Rings,\u00a0The Hobbit,\u00a0and\u00a0The\u00a0Silmarillion.\u00a0 Fonstad\u2019s meticulous readings of &hellip; <\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<li><div class=\"post-content\"><a class=\"post-title\" href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/libraries\/2026\/04\/28\/merger\/\">UWM Libraries to\u00a0Merge\u00a0Archives and Special Collections\u00a0May 25\u00a0<\/a><div class=\"post-excerpt\">Beginning&nbsp;May 25, the UWM Libraries will merge Archives and Special Collections into a single department: Archives and Special Collections.&nbsp;&nbsp; The UWM Libraries are continuously evolving and&nbsp;always evaluating how to&nbsp;operate&nbsp;and fulfill the&nbsp;Libraries\u2019s&nbsp;mission with the given resources.
