2019-2021 UWM Authors Virtual Recognition Ceremony
This year, due to the pandemic, we are unable to hold the usual UWM Authors Recognition Ceremony as described below. Instead, we’ve created a website that will allow the community to discover the work of our UWM Authors virtually! Please use the link below to view the website, including messages from the Chancellor, Provost, and the Director of the UWM Libraries.
UWM Authors Recognition Ceremony
A biennial event for UWM authors is the UWM Authors Recognition Ceremony. This event, which has been held every two years since its inception in 1992, is a significant campus tradition. This event honors UWM faculty and staff whose published monographs and recordings have been added to the UWM Authors Collection during the two years since the previous ceremony. Faculty and staff who have written, edited, translated, or illustrated a book; composed music for a published score or recording; or had a primary role in creating a commercially distributed film or video since the last event should fill out the UWM Authors Collection Submission Form linked at the bottom of this page to be included in the event.
This event gives those attending the ceremony the opportunity to view an exhibit showing the variety of works already in the collection, as well as an opportunity to meet with colleagues. The UWM Authors Collection, which currently contains more than 2000 published monographs, is an important part of the Golda Meir Library’s holdings because the works in this collection document the intellectual heritage of the university and the contributions of UWM faculty and staff to contemporary scholarship.
