Fred Hagstrom, book artist, printmaker, and art professor at Carleton College in Northfield, MN, presented the 2011 Ettinger Book Artist Lecture on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 7 p.m. in Special Collections, located on the 4th Floor of the UWM Golda Meir Library.

Hagstrom, whose work focuses primarily on social, political, and literary issues, discussed his use of the book form as an art medium.

He is the recipient of three Blandin Fellowship grants, a McKnight Foundation Fellowship, and a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant.

His work was featured prominently in an exhibition in the fall of 2011 entitled “Illuminating the Issue: Artists Books as Social/Political Critique” in the 4th Floor Exhibition Gallery, Golda Meir Library, adjacent to Special Collections, Oct.10 – Dec. 31, 2011.
