Artist, printmaker and publisher Claire Van Vliet presented the 2009 Ettinger Book Artist Lecture on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 2 p.m.

Van Vliet, whose many honors include a MacArthur Fellowship, is the proprietor of the Janus Press, located in Newark, Vermont.

One of the most influential book artists of our time, she has been an artist in residence and lecturer throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and New Zealand, and has had more than 40 solo exhibitions in the U.S. and internationally.

Van Vliet’s work with the Janus Press was the subject of an exhibition, “Claire Van Vliet & the Janus Press: Selections from the Jerome Buff Collection,” on view in the 4th Floor Exhibition Gallery, Golda Meir Library, Oct. 19-Nov. 30, 2009.

Van Vliet’s presentation, free and open to the public, was held in the Conference Center, Golda Meir Library, fourth floor.
