Non-Exclusive Distribution License

By signing and submitting this license, you (the author or copyright owner) grant to the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System on behalf of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (UWM) a non-exclusive license to use, store, reproduce, display, translate (as described below), and/or distribute your submission (including the abstract) (collectively, the “Submission”) worldwide for any and all purposes through any medium or format, whether now known or later conceived or developed, including, but not limited to, print, electronic, audio, and video formats, from this date forward.

You agree that UWM may, without changing the core content, translate the Submission to any medium or format for the purpose of preserving and providing access to the Submission. You also agree that UWM may keep more than one copy of the Submission for purposes of security, back-up and preservation.

You represent that the Submission is your original work, that you own all right, title, and interest in the Submission, that you have not previously assigned the copyright or any other rights in the Submission, and that you have the right to grant the rights contained in this license. You also represent that your Submission does not, to the best of your knowledge, infringe upon the copyright or personal or proprietary right of another.
If the Submission contains material for which you do not hold copyright, you represent that you have obtained the unrestricted permission of the copyright owner to grant UWM the rights required by this license, that you have provided UWM with sufficient proof of such permission (please attach), and that such third party owned material is clearly identified and acknowledged within the text or content of the Submission. If you do not have such consent, you represent that (i) you made reasonable efforts to obtain permission to use the subject materials, (ii) you have not been affirmatively denied permission to use the materials, and (iii) your usage constitutes fair use under U.S. Copyright law; furthermore, you agree that the third party owned material has been clearly identified as such with credit given to its original author (if known).

You agree that if you, at any point in the future, become aware of any reasons why any third party may at any time have an interest in the rights to any aspect of the Submission in conflict with this license, you shall immediately notify UWM of such issues by contacting ScholarlyCommunicationTeam-Group@uwm.edu.

IF THE SUBMISSION IS BASED UPON WORK THAT HAS BEEN SPONSORED OR SUPPORTED BY AN AGENCY OR ORGANIZATION OTHER THAN UWM, YOU REPRESENT THAT YOU HAVE FULFILLED ANY RIGHT OF REVIEW OR OTHER OBLIGATIONS REQUIRED BY SUCH AGENCY OR ORGANIZATION.

You represent that you will not, in the future, execute any instrument in conflict with this license.

UWM will clearly identify your name(s) as the author(s) or owner(s) of the Submission, and will not make any alteration, other than as allowed by this license, to your Submission.

You waive any claims against UWM, its employees, and its agents based upon or related to its use of the Submission. You understand that you have the right to negotiate the terms of this agreement by contacting ScholarlyCommunicationTeam-Group@uwm.edu.
