Great Books Roundtable Discussion

August 27, 2019 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Our August Great Books Roundtable Discussion will be on the “Battle of Thermopylae” from the Histories of the ancient Greek historian Herodotus.

Battle of Thermopylae, History, Book 7, sections 198 thru 239 (440 BCE)

Our discussion will be held:
TUESDAY, August 27, 2019
7:00-9:00pm

Curtin Hall, Room 839
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
PLEASE NOTE: Our discussions are usually held on the last Wednesday of each month, but because of a scheduling conflict, this month’s discussion is being held on the last Tuesday in August.

IMPORTANT CHANGE: Our discussion will take place in CURTIN 839 rather than at the Library, as the library closes at 5 pm on Tuesday.

No expertise of prerequisites are required. We only ask that you read the selected text. Any version of the text may be used to prepare for discussion, but for your convenience a link to a PDF version is provided above.

These discussions are free and open to the public, and I invite you to participate.
