Fall into Research: Discovery & Access—A Discussion and Workshop
November 12 @ 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM
The UWM Libraries are hosting a discussion and workshop, “Fall into Research: Discovery & Access,” on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 12:00 to 1:15 p.m. in the Digital Humanities Lab on the 2nd floor east wing of the Golda Meir Library.
Join us for a discussion with Lorraine Malcoe, Associate Professor and Undergraduate Program Director at the Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health, on challenges and strategies for discovering and accessing scholarly content.
Kathryn Zielski, Director of Global Outreach at ThirdIron, will then lead a workshop on usage of LibKey and Browzine applications to improve your experience finding and accessing full text resources.
UWM Libraries continue to invest in tools that support teaching, learning and research in an online environment where faculty, staff, and students are increasingly working and learning off-campus.
Participants will learn to use Third Iron’s LibKey Suite and BrowZine products that will simplify and accelerate discovery and access to full-text content.
Participants should bring their own Wi-Fi enabled device to activate the apps for personal use. For more information visit the 2021 Fall into Research guide. Space is limited. Register for the event here: https://tinyurl.com/2021fallintoresearch
Each fall the UWM Libraries organize special discussions about academic publishing. Past “Fall into Research” programs have featured faculty panels on publishing in the pandemic, monograph publishing with SAGE, journal article publishing with IEEE, and brought in trainers from Web of Science, and editors from Mary Ann Liebert and Springer Nature. Fall into Research program series is organized by the Research Services Team of the User Services Division.
