Wag More Wednesdays

During the fall and spring semesters therapy dogs visit the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons. This is an excellent opportunity for students and campus staff to destress and snuggle with their furry friends. Each visit is about one hour. Below is the Spring 2025 Wag More Wednesdays Schedule.

Group Study Rooms

There are several Group Study Spaces along the outer walls of the south Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons area; first come, first served. These rooms have open door frames.

There are five Group Study Rooms that can be reserved. These rooms have doors that close, white board space, and two have video monitors. See the Room Reservations page for information about amenities, the policy, and the link to the reservation form.

Ask A Librarian Services

The UWM Libraries’ User Services Division exists to guide and assist student’s research questions. In-person help is available at the Research Help Desk, located at the main service desk in the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons. You can email or chat with a librarian 24/7. Visit the Libraries Help pages for more information.

Information Literacy Instruction Classrooms

The User Services Division holds several hundred instruction sessions each semester. These sessions are held in the two classrooms on the north side of the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons: Classroom A (W194) and Classroom B (W190). These rooms feature advanced media and presentation technology. To schedule an information literacy workshop for your class, fill out the Request Library Instruction form.

When not in use for instruction and events, the rooms and their computers are available for student use.

Technology Assistance

Computer Technology Services has Technology Consultants in the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons assist students with technology-related questions.

Vending Machines

Snack and Beverage Vending Machines are maintained by outside vendors are located in the north commons area.
