Group Study Rooms

Should my group use the Group Study Rooms even if I haven’t reserved it before hand?

If a group study room is open, the best thing to do is to reserve it right away–before your group wants to use the room. Reservations are real-time and confirmed immediately. If all Group Study Rooms are in use, there are several other group spaces in the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons. The hallways between the East and West Wings are also encouraged to be used for collaborative study.

If the room isn’t being used can I study in the Group Study Room by myself?

No. These rooms are set aside for group work. If you need a quiet space to study, the library has two designated Quiet Study areas: 2nd floor East Wing, beyond the Music Library, and Lower Level East Wing (follow the signs for Compact Shelving). In addition, the desks near the stacks on other floors are usually quiet.

After Hours

Where can I park after 12:00 AM?

Union Parking Garage – FOR STUDENTS IN THE DANIEL M. SOREF LEARNING COMMONS ONLY! Stop by the Welcome Desk in the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons to register your vehicle for a permit valid anytime between 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM. Sandburg Hall Parking Garage has metered spaces 24 Hours a day. Why aren’t there any open computers?

If what you need is a computer to quickly print off an assignment, there are 4 designated stand-up quick print stations on the south side of the Learning Commons. You can check the availability at other labs here.

Can I access wireless on my laptop?

Wireless access is available throughout the library. More information.


How do I print here?

Printing in the library is the same as printing in other campus computer labs through Wēpa. The University Information Technology Services (UITS) Help Desk can assist with the new WEPA Print Away system. Printing is $0.12 per double-sided page (black and white). Color printing is available for $0.50 duplex.

Can I print from a laptop or mobile device?

You can print from your laptop or mobile device if you have the WEPA app installed, or you can print via the internet, email, or the cloud. Visit this web page for more details.

Can I make a copy or a scan?

NOTE: Copiers were removed as of October 2017. However, scanners will remain and can be used for uploading documents, which can be printed off through the Wēpa printing system. Contact UITS for assistance.

Scanning is free! Two flat bed scanners (OCR) are on the south side.
