Shelving Maintenance

Shelving Maintenance is responsible for the shelving, re-shelving, shelf reading, and shifting of the general collection (also known as the “stacks”). Shelving Maintenance also sorts items and makes up book trucks.

The general collection spans areas on the 3rd floor, 2nd floor West Wing, and Lower Level. There are 5 sorting rooms for the general collection and they are open to the public. See the Golda Meir Library Floorplans for more information.

Shifting areas of the stacks and other projects are on-going throughout the year.  Patrons needing assistance locating materials, please inquire at the Main Circulation Desk, 1st Floor, West Wing, or call 229-4132.

The UWM Libraries use the Library of Congress Call Number System.
