Kim Silbersack, Golda Meir Library Facilities Manager, Retires after 25 Years

After nearly 25 years of service to the UWM Libraries, Kim Silbersack will retire on June 2, 2021. In her role as facilities manager, Kim’s service and dedication have impacted everyone who uses the Golda Meir Library for work, research, and other learning activities.

Kim has been integral in making the library a safe, secure, and welcoming place for the UWM community. She is one of UWM’s many “unsung heroes” who work diligently behind-the-scenes to anticipate problems and keep operations running smoothly. She has co-led all remodeling and building projects during her tenure, including the construction of the $5.6 million Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons in 2008-2009. Additionally, she has assisted with logistics for hundreds of events held in the Conference Center and other library spaces.

Kim has been a familiar face at many UWM events, generously volunteering her time at graduations, chancellor inaugurations, new student orientations, campus welcomes, and numerous campus-community events.

The Libraries wish her the best as she begins a new chapter in her life.
