The UWM Libraries are pleased to announce that Marion Archer has joined the staff as acquisitions librarian in the Collection and Resource Management Division.

Her responsibilities include participating in all aspects of collection management—acquisitions, fund management, and collection development; creating efficient workflows for processing new materials; and working with colleagues across library departments and within the University of Wisconsin System consortium.

“I am so excited to have joined the UWM Libraries,” Archer says. “I look forward to collaborating with colleagues and getting to know everyone.”

Archer was previously employed as the digital services librarian at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois. Before that, she worked at the Bloomington, Illinois Public Library in a number of departments including acquisitions, reference, and circulation. She has also taught art history at the college level at three institutions.

Archer co-presented “Podcasting for the Beginner” at the Illinois Library Association 2017 Conference in Tinley Park.

She holds an MLIS and an MA in art history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her undergraduate degree in history is from Illinois State University, Normal.

She began with the Libraries on May 4.
