UWM Libraries Restructuring Update

three libraries

Following the announcement of the joining of UWM with the UW campuses in Waukesha and Washington County, the UWM Libraries have worked diligently to integrate the libraries at all three campuses to serve the needs of students and faculty in the College of General Studies. The goal is to operate as a single library offering a seamless user experience.

During the process, the UWM Libraries have reviewed virtually every major library function, from discovery to access, from acquisitions to cataloging, and from virtual reference to course-integrated instruction.

“We are very excited to extend the resources and services of the Golda Meir Library to UWM at Waukesha Library and UWM at Washington County Library,” says Director of Libraries Michael Doylen. “By July 1, all UWM students, faculty and staff will enjoy the same smooth access to circulation, interlibrary loan, subscription databases, and instructional and research support.”

The UWM Libraries will provide details about library integration in the weeks and months ahead.
