The UWM Libraries recently started mediating all new purchases through the Kanopy request form. We took this step in response to dramatically escalating costs, which have risen at an unsustainable rate since we started providing access to Kanopy titles in 2015.
In order to request access to specific films for teaching or research, we ask that faculty and staff please fill out the Kanopy request form and a library staff member will be in touch to facilitate your request. The form will appear when a user tries to access the title (i.e. selects “play”). Users will not need to request access if the Libraries have already purchased a license for the title.
In addition to Kanopy, the Libraries subscribe to other streaming video databases, such as Films On Demand, Swank Digital Campus, Digital Theatre Plus, American History in Video, Black Studies in Video, Ethnographic Video Online, and Filmakers Library Online, which may also meet user needs.
