Newly added to Digital Collections – The Western Photograph Collection presents 250 images from the American Geographical Society Library.  The images selected are those of Timothy H. O’Sullivan (1840-1882) and were taken during the Geological Exploration of the Fortieth Parallel, 1867 – 1872 and the Surveys West of the 100^th Meridian Expedition, 1874 and other explorations of the early Western territories of the United States. Widely sought, these images are an incredible and valuable document of the western United States in the 19th century.
