Why are we celebrating Pride Week?
This week is about celebrating the diverse and vibrant communities that make up our LGBTQIA+ communities here at UWM. Departments and offices across the campus have come together to curate a week of events and activities to elevate LGBTQIA+ voices, stories, and identities. Allies are welcome to attend, celebrate, and learn alongside their LGBTQIA+ peers.
Pride Month is typically observed in June, but we are hosting Pride Week in January to welcome students back to campus; many of our students find UWM to be the place they can be their most authentic selves, and we want to celebrate that with Pride Week.
