SUMMARY:2026 Governor’s Archives Award for Archival Advocacy
DESCRIPTION:As we start the school year\, we would like to extend out a huge congratulations to a project that has received a tremendous honor. “Mapping Racism and Resistance” is the recipient of the 2026 Governor’s Archives Award for Archival Advocacy. Professor Anne Bonds from Geography and Professor Derek Handley from English have taken the lead on this project along with hundreds of community volunteers. The Wisconsin Historical Society will present the award on Friday\, August 28 at the Wisconsin Black Historical Society at 3 pm. Members of the UWM community are welcome attend to celebrate this success. \n
