Building Values-Based Classroom Communities at UWM

March 29, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

This interactive presentation will introduce participants to the use of restorative practices as a tool to more intentionally build trusting, values-based relationships and community in the classroom. Participants will reflect on the nature of higher education’s role in cultivating a sense of fellowship among all students as an antidote to the problem of student retention. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to participate in intentional relationship building to garner the experiential knowledge necessary to “see” this work living at UWM.

The presenter is Drew DeLutio from Milwaukee Public Schools’ Office of Violence Prevention.
