Bending the Archive: Zines, Preservation, & the Digital Humanities

April 5, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

As zines approach four decades of documenting and being the voice of many subcultures, they are beginning to be added to the collections of libraries, universities, and other institutions. What does this mean for zine creators—and for archives? This roundtable explores key issues in the archiving of zines, discussing best practices for both producers and archivists to collect, circulate, digitize, and make accessible these ephemeral documents.

Panelists include: Jenna Freedman (Barnard Library, NYC), Milo Miller (UWM and the Queer Zine Archive Project), and Lane Hall (English, UWM)
