The event will be recorded and shared afterward with all who register.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This virtual program will<\/strong> introduce teachers to recent graphic novels about youth arriving to the United States from another culture. Presenters will share relevant titles for classroom use, and discuss curricular and co-curricular activities that draw on those materials to facilitate student engagement around immigration, cultural exchange, and building belonging.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring UW-Madison Professor <strong>Sara McKinnon<\/strong> (co-founder of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lacis.wisc.edu\/2025\/08\/13\/latine-comic-collective-a-positive-force-for-belonging-and-cultural-expression-with-latine-middle-high-school-newcomers\/\">Latine Comic Collective<\/a>) and Audubon High School teacher <strong>Andrew Lazzari<\/strong> (history &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/education\/2023\/12\/13\/how-restorative-justice-works-at-mps-audubon-high-school-in-milwaukee\/71677952007\/\">restorative practices<\/a>, Milwaukee Public Schools).
