Ctr for Latin American & Caribbean Studies Alumni Career Webinar: July 25, noon

The UWM Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, together with UW-Madison and the University of Chicago present an Alumni Career Webinar with Bryan Rogers.

Bryan Rogers (LACUSL ’15) currently works as the Honduras Program Coordinator for the US grassroots human rights organization Witness for Peace, living in-country and accompanying social movements to build stronger solidarity networks across the hemisphere. As an undergraduate in UW-Milwaukee’s Latin American, Caribbean, & US Latin@ Studies program, Rogers was a Gilman Scholar at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile and also studied Portuguese in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil as a FLAS fellow. He went on to work at the Instituto Cultural Steve Biko, a black popular education organization in Salvador. Since 2015, Rogers has lived and worked in Honduras, analyzing the impacts of US foreign policy and corporate practices in the region as well as running popular education exchanges in Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras, Mexico, and Colombia in order to connect US-based organizers and movement leaders with human rights defenders in Latin America.
