Nearly 20 local businesses visited UWM on April 11 for the JAMS Internship & Networking Fair, meeting with JAMS students looking to pursue careers in journalism, advertising, public relations, and communications.<\/p>\n

The likes of the Lake Country Dockhounds, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Kane Communications, Hoffman York, TMJ4, and more attended the fair to offer advice and help students navigate the next steps in their college and post-grad careers.<\/p>\n

“The internship fair was a fantastic way to make connections with potential employers and learn more about the industry,” said Cameron Knoll, JAMS student and current WISN-12 intern.<\/p>\n

Knoll was just one of over a hundred students who attended the event in hopes of making impactful connections with industry leaders.<\/p>\n

“We love showcasing what our students can do while also getting our students to put themselves out there,” said JAMS Director Jackie Bradway. “We always want our students to do well in classes, but we also want that work to translate to the real world, and that starts with getting an internship or job!”<\/p>\n

The JAMS Program holds an iteration of its Internship & Networking Fair nearly every spring semester to encourage students graduating in May to start honing their networking skills. This year’s event was co-hosted with the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).<\/p>\n
