In partnership with the UWM Libraries and the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, IWA hosted an uplifting visit by acclaimed children’s book author and illustrator Reza Dalvand. At an event tied to UWM’s International Children’s and Young Adult Literature collection, Reza participated in an engaging conversation with Outreach Librarian Tiffany Thornton about ways books and illustrations can support cross-cultural understanding. In addition to his program at UWM, Reza visited two Milwaukee Public Schools to discuss his books and illustrations and lay the groundwork for student-created bookmaking and storytelling.
