Space Update

A message from the ISS Leadership Team: Provost Britz and Vice Chancellor Van Harpen have provided final approval for the location of the second Shared Services Center (SSC2) and any subsequent moves that need to occur.  Here is a summary of the plan and the advantages it presents:

Space

  1. Locate the SSC2 on the west side of the first floor of Engelmann Hall, which is in close proximity to SSC1.
  2. Maintain the central HR Payroll & Benefits Team in the center of the first floor of Engelmann Hall, as is.
  3. Relocate the central HR Employment Services Team and the Business Solutions Team to the second floor of Engelmann Hall, west end.
  4. Relocate the Campus Planning Team and Business Process Analysis Team to the sixth floor of Enderis Hall.

Advantages

  1. Contiguous nature of SSC 1 and SSC 2 allows for best success of SSC 2
  2. Proximity to CHR for training and issue escalation critical to success of both SSC 1 & 2
  3. Availability to redeploy staff across the in-scope functions as needed
  4. Greater ability to insure consistency of operations when individuals work in close proximity
  5. Availability of a central port of entry for all HR/BFS operations in scope (a common front desk)
  6. Enables customers to access Payroll & Benefits Team with the ease they expect, where they expect them to be

Space planning work for Campus Technology Support (CTS), the Information Technology component of shared services, remains on going.

ISS Leadership will be working closely with Campus Planning to develop a detailed plan.  More information, including timing, will be shared as available.  If you have any questions about this decision, please contact any member of the ISS Leadership Team (Sylvia Banda, Bob Beck, Tim Danielson, Kathy Heath, Jim Kavanaugh, Drew Knab, or Jarad Parker) or for staff of CHR, you may also speak with your immediate supervisor.
