Highlights from Bi-weekly Status Report

The bi-weekly status report (two-week period from July 15th to July 26th) was distributed to ISS project team members on Tuesday, July 30th.  Some highlights from that report are:

Overall Program Management

  • ISS Leadership have continued meeting with groups of staff from SSC2 Supported Units. They have shared the business case, described intended benefits of moving to shared services, reviewed timelines, and clarified the next steps for development of the staffing plan and services transition planning.  Leadership are also meeting with school/college/division leadership about the preliminary recommendations for the staffing plan.

CTS Space Planning Team

  • During the week of 7/8, the ISS Project Executive Sponsors approved the next steps for review of CTS space needs and options. A Space Needs Analysis has been completed and will be shared with a project sub-group for further work with the Campus Space Committee.

 SSC Space Planning Team

  • The teams are continuing conversations with the University Space Committee and the Executive Sponsors regarding a finalized space recommendation. ISS Leadership intends to interact with the University Space Planning Committee in early August to discuss options for placement of the second Shared Services Center.  Thereafter, a preferred option will be presented to the Executive Sponsors for consideration.

 Implementation Core Team

  • The Core Team’s staffing analysis is complete and under review by ISS Leadership, who are continuing to hold detailed staffing conversations with leaders of the units that will be served by hub 2.

IT Transition Team

  • On Monday, July 22, Phase 2 of the Implementation of Campus Technology Support (CTS) for the ISS Project officially commenced. The Transition process is designed to make gradual IT changes and improvements with minimal disruption to supported campus units in Hub 2.
  • The Executive Sponsors formally approved the staffing plan for Phase 2 of CTS, and eight full-time IT staff members joined CTS on Monday, July 22. Transition discussions with some full-time IT staff members and their respective Hub 2 units are continuing, so the ultimate number of incoming CTS staff may modestly increase.
