Hannah completed her Bachelor’s of Arts in Linguistics with a minor in Chinese studies at Boise State University in her hometown of Boise, Idaho in 2019. She completed her Masters of Arts in TESOL and Applied Linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2022. Hannah has taught in several different ESL contexts, including the Intensive English Program at Boise State University, as well as several community-based adult ESL programs serving refugees. She has taught at UWM since the summer of 2022. Hannah’s interest in languages started at a very young age growing up around German speaking family members and her mother, who teaches German and Chinese as a foreign language. Hannah is especially interested in using language to explore different cultures around the world, and how people form their own personal identities using language. She is also interested in curriculum design and research, as well as second language acquisition and writing. She loves to help students expand and build their language skills to reach their goals, as well as help them learn more about themselves in the language learning process. She speaks English, Chinese, Korean, and German. In her free time Hannah enjoys reading, cooking, running, knitting, and finding new music from around the world!
