Westbrooks has been the Carl A. Droch University Librarian and Vice Provost at Cornell University. She is responsible for the leadership and general administration of the University library and Cornell University Press which includes over 15 libraries and 400 librarians\, archivists\, and staff. \nWestbrooks is the chair of the Association of Research Libraries Scholars and Scholarship Committee. In addition\, she sits on the Digital Public Library of America Board of Directors\, the Sage Publishing Board of Directors\, and the Board for the Center for Open Science. \nBecause of her expertise in scholarly publishing\, Westbrooks has been interviewed by numerous media outlets\, including Vox\, Inside Higher Education\, and the Chronicle of Higher Education. Although previous research has examined various attributes of high-quality information on social Q&A sites (e.g.\, best answers)\, relatively less attention has been paid to what affects users’ credibility assessments of information in the social Q&A context. This presentation introduces an ongoing project aiming to develop a platform-specific framework for web credibility assessment on social Q&A sites. Should they focus on nuanced evaluations of specific claims by politicians\, or shift to debunking misinformation more generally?
