RGI grant to provide seed funding for research on open peer review process.
SOIS professor Dietmar Wolfram and co-PI Peiling Wang of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville iSchool are recipients of a 2018 UWM Research Growth Initiative® grant for their proposal, “The Future of Peer Review in the Open Science Era: Can Transparency Address Current Concerns?”
Their study will examine the current status of open peer review adoption, models of adoption, and characteristics of published open peer reviews. Findings of the study will lead to a typology of open peer review models and analytical methods for mining peer review corpora. The project will establish a foundation for a larger scale, systematic examination of the efficacy of peer review by the scientific research community.
The Research Growth Initiative® is a UWM internal grant program that provides seed funding for high-quality research projects in the early stages of development.
