Dr. Quan Lu is now a visiting scholar at the School of Information Studies, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is also a Professor in the School of Information Management and Dean of the Department of Information Management Science at Wuhan University (WHU), P. R. China. He received his B.S. degree in management information system from Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering (WUHEE), and his M.S. degree in management science and engineering and Ph.D. degree in computer science from WHU. His research interests include big data analysis, data mining, information visualization, human-computer interaction, knowledge organization and knowledge service. Dr. Quan Lu has received more than 20 research grants from different agencies and organizations, including National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Social Science Foundation of China. He has also won many academic rewards such as Excellent Achievements Award in Social Sciences of Hubei Province, Science and Technology Progress Award of Hubei Province, Science and Technology Achievement Award of Henan Province, Excellent Paper Award of National Doctoral Academic Forum of Information Science, Excellent National Scholarship Instructor for Graduate Students, Award of the Advisor of Excellent Bachelor Thesis of Hubei Province, etc.
