Adam Hudson

nonprofit_profile_hudson_aAdam is a founding member of nonprof-IT and has been leading teams of students since the program launched in the fall of 2014. Adam teaches front end development courses at the School of Information Studies (SOIS) and once rode a mechanical bull for 24 seconds in Mexico. He earned a bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, his MLIS from UWM, and a Specialization in Web Development from the University of Southern California. In his spare time he enjoys traveling as much as possible and spending time with his young family.

 

Sam Goerke

Sam is the Graduate Student Assistant for nonprof-IT. He is working towards his Masters in Information Science and Technology with a focus on Cyber Security at UWM in the School of Information Studies (SOIS). He earned his Bachelor’s degree from UWM and SOIS in spring 2017. He participated in nonprof-IT as an undergrad, and is now thrilled to be helping to run it. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, exploring cities, and learning all things technology.

Chris LaGrange

Chris LaGrangeChris is a senior at University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He has been working in the IT field 2 to 3 years in fields of data science and web development. He hopes to continually learn new skills that will apply to future career opportunities. Outside of school and work Chris enjoys photography, attending concerts, exercising, and reading.

 

Michael Sesini

Michael is currently a JAMS major concentrating in advertising and public relations expecting to graduate in December 2018. Last semester, he was recognized by the Phi Beta Kappa honors society and was invited to join their prestigious network. Michael’s professional aspirations reside with new media art and entertainment, especially short-form videography. Michael also is passionately involved with multiple online gaming communities and related social media channels and hopes to build an online community while pursuing entrepreneurial work in the future.

 

Yang Cheng

Yang is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, majoring in Information Science and Technology with a minor in English. He will be working with Economics Wisconsin and the Aids Resource Center of Wisconsin to revamp their social media presence this semester. He has been in the IT field for just over 2 and half years, mainly in IT Support and Knowledgebase Management. In his free time, Yang enjoys catching up with friends, trying new foods and catching up on tech. He is excited to work with the team to support local nonprofits.

 

Luke Bechen

Hello, my name is Luke Bechen and I am a Senior at UWM majoring in Information Science and Technology. I am rounding out my time at UWM with the Nonprof-IT program to gain more hands on experience. Having worked in a variety of fields including the military, sales, service industry has given me many skills. I hope to use those skills along with the great experience gained at UWM to propel me into the professional world. In my spare time I enjoy playing games and camping.

Andrea Bailey

I am Senior at UWM majoring in Information Science and Technology. I currently work at the UWM Campus Technology Help Desk as a Shift Supervisor. In the future, I hope to focus on Networking and Security. This is my first semester in the Nonprofit-IT program. I will be working with my team to revamp the Clarke Square Neighborhood Initiative Website. I look forward to using the skills I have and gain more from this opportunity. I enjoy watching anime, playing video games and spending time with friends and family.

 

David Ruiz

My name is David I am currently a Senior at UWM majoring in Information Science & Technology, while also getting a certificate in Digital Arts & Culture. I am excited to be part of the Nonprof-IT team, as it is my first semester in the program. I hope to gain the experience in the field and be able to get in contact with more people in this job area. During my free time I enjoy going to the gym and working out and being adventurous with nature.

 

Alyssa Fischer

Alyssa is a student-athlete who is currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, working toward her degrees in both Psychology and Information Science and Technology. Being on track to receive both bachelor degrees this fall (2018), she plans to pursue her master’s degree in Administrative Leadership and complete that by the spring of 2020. She is a member of the UWM Women’s Basketball and a captain of the team, who is also apart of leadership committee’s and programs within the athletic department.

 

Michael Rehlinger

Michael is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee who is majoring in Information Science and Technology. This is his first time participating in the Nonprof-IT program, and he is looking forward to working with and learning from the Clarke Square Neighborhood Initiative. His specialty is web design, but he also has knowledge about programming, security, databases, and networking through his coursework at UWM. In his free time he enjoys gaming, watching movies, going to the gym, and spending time with his friends and family.

 

Eastside Senior Services Team

Alexander Nogalski

Alexander is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he is majoring in Information Science and Technology. This is his first semester in the Nonprof-IT program, and he is looking forward to being able to use the skills he has acquired at UWM to help others in the Milwaukee area. In addition, he hopes to gain real world experience and better himself through this project. He has past volunteering experience working with his church’s food pantry and his Eagle Scout project. In his free time he enjoys coding, reading, hiking, and video games.

 

Haritha Amarnath

Haritha is a senior at University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology. This is her first semester in nonprof-IT internship program, and she is thrilled to work for East-side senior services as she is certainly focused on enhancing her skills and gain experience. She loves working on analyzing and manipulating databases, as she never gets tired of it, and has a great interest towards research. She purely believes that the purpose of technology is to serve the world. Haritha enjoys dancing, and visiting new places.

 

Giamo Rivera

Giamo is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he is continuing his education in Information Science and Technology after graduating from Milwaukee Area Technical College with an Associate’s degree in IT Networking. He currently works in the IT field performing tasks such a hardware repair and help desk support. This is his first semester in the nonprof-IT program and is working alongside “Eastside Senior Services” to update their current technologies to accommodate for their needs. He hopes he can learn from this experience and apply it to future endeavors.

 

Ishwarya Korrapolu

Ishwarya is a senior majoring in Information Science and Technology with a minor in Computer Science and Mathematics. This is her first semester in the nonprofit-IT program. She is working with Eastside Senior Services company and is hoping to gain skills in UI design by redeveloping their website and is also working on databases. She is hoping to learn about team work and real world experience from this opportunity. In her free time, Ishwarya enjoys outdoor activities, travelling and watching movies.

 

Colby Wilkerson

Colby Wilkerson is a senior at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, majoring in Design and Visual Communications. This is his first semester working with the nonprof-IT program, however is excited to bring his graphic design background to aid in the work of the other Information Studies students on their project. He will be working with Eastside Senior Services in creating an updated website and various other design elements required by the organization.

Zach Price

Zach PriceZach is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology. He works as the primary web developer for the School of Information Studies as well as a Student Technician. This is his second semester in the nonprof-IT program, this time as a Team Lead. He hopes to gain skills in UI/UX design and Product Management from this internship. When not in school Zach enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and exploring Milwaukee.

 

Alex Peck

Currently a senior at UW-Milwaukee pursuing a degree in Information Sciences and Technology. A lifelong learner who always is looking to improve his skill set and bring a positive outlook to any given situation. After obtaining an Associate’s Degree from (MATC) Milwaukee Area Technical College’s IT Network Specialist program, decided to further his education at UW-Milwaukee to develop higher level skills. He hopes to use this opportunity of being accepted in the Non-Prof IT program, to grow as a professional in the IT sector by making new connections.

 

Katy Hartman

Katie is in her second year at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she is majoring in Information Science and Technology. She plans on expanding her field of study by minoring in Computer Science. This is her first semester as an intern for Nonprof-IT. She is excited to work with Fondy’s Food Center because it will give her experience working in a team environment while developing necessary IT skills. In her free time, Katie likes to backpack, watch documentaries, and visiting national parks.

 

Samantha Sollis

Samantha Solis is a first-generation student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is currently a Junior majoring in Information Science and Technology and minoring in Linguistics. This is her first semester in the the Nonprofit-IT and is looking forward to learning technical and professional skills while helping a nonprofit organization in the Milwaukee area. Kevin Rediske

Kevin is a senior at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where he is majoring in Information Science and Technology. When he is not tinkering with his computer he enjoys getting coffee, back packing, camping, running and playing his violin. His interests in the technological world deals with networking and security. This is his first time in the Nonprof-IT internship program and he will be working with Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful. He is looking forward to the contributions he will make and the valuable skills he will learn from it.

 

Vanessa Rodriguez

Vanessa is a Senior majoring in Information Science and Technology and currently works as a Web Developer in UWM’s Engineering Department. This is her first time participating in the Non-Prof IT program and is looking forward to using the skills she has harnessed to help Milwaukee area businesses. She hopes to gain additional experience working with real clients and seeing project management in action. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and taking part in Milwaukee tech events.

 

Sai Chittajallu

This is Sai Jayanth Chittajallu and he goes by Sai. he is a junior at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, coming from Bangalore, India. He is majoring in Information Science and Technology along with where he is working as a Project Coordinator with UWM UITS department Project Management Office. This is his first semester in NonProf-IT program and he is on the team working with Keep Greater Milwaukee. He is very excited to gain knowledge and learn hand on experience. Apart from his professional life, he like to go for a long drive, story writing, basketball and hang out at Gym daily.

 

Thojpov Yang

Thojpov is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology with a certificate in Healthcare Informatics. This is his first semester in the Nonprof-IT program. His interest is gaining more knowledge about system analysis and project management. In his spare time he enjoys playing sports, and watching movies.

 

Madeline Manor

Madeline is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is majoring in Information Science and Technology. She has some experience with web design from interning over the summer. This is her first semester in the Nonprof-IT program and she is looking forward to gaining more experience in web development, file managing skills, and teamwork skills from this opportunity. Outside of school, Madeline enjoys playing piano, drawing, and going out with friends.

 

Ko-Thi Dance Company Team

Matthew Schubring

Matthew is a senior at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology. He works part time as a Programmer Analyst Intern at Fidelity Information Services (FIS). This is his first semester in the nonprof-IT program, and he is working as the Team Lead to build a new website for the Ko-Thi Dance Company in Milwaukee, WI. From this internship he hopes to build project organization and management skills while gaining field experience working with clients on a project. When not in school Matthew enjoys coaching gymnastics, camping, rock climbing, and playing tabletop games.

 

Stephen Wagstaff

Stephen is a senior majoring in Information Science and Technology with a minor in Computer Science. He currently works for FIS as a programmer analyst. During the summer he races bicycles competitively with the Project Echelon Cycling Team, an elite cycling team that is partnered with the Project Echelon nonprofit to help veterans recover from mental illness through physical engagement. In his free time he enjoys traveling to big cities and enjoying the delicious food they hold or reading about new software technologies and development methodologies .

 

Mason Drenski

Mason is a senior at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology with a minor in Music. This is his first semester in the Nonprof-IT program, and he is working with the Ko-Thi Dance Company. Mason looks forward to learning new skills while gaining real-world client experience and making a positive impact on the local community. In his free time, Mason enjoys playing guitar, watching movies, and outdoor activities.

 

Jeff Wolf

Jeff is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Information Science and Technology. This is his first semester in the Nonprof-IT internship program and he is working with the Ko-Thi Dance Company, helping redesign their website for their upcoming 50th anniversary. When not in school Jeff enjoys gaming, running, practicing karate and helping coach his sons’ soccer teams.

 

Santiago Moreno-Islas

Santiago is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology with a minor in Studio Art. This is his first semester in the nonprof-IT program, and he is excited to be working on the new Ko~Thi Dance Company website. He hopes to gain UI/UX design and web development experience, while also giving back to his community through this internship. Kristine Lyon

Kristine is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology. This is her first semester in the Nonprof-IT program, and she is on the team working on the redesign of the MACIC website. She hopes to gain skills in web design and project management. In her free time, Kristine enjoys pub trivia, gaming, and cooking.

 

Shayla Kirby

Shayla is a senior at UWM majoring in Information of Science and Technology. She has studied abroad in Japan and wishes to start a career in Japan as a web designer. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, studying foreign languages and also studying programming languages such as Java, Python, HTML and CSS.

 

Justin Cogswell

Justin is currently a Senior at UW-Milwaukee majoring in information Science and Technology while also working towards a minor in computer science to expand my coding horizons. This is my first semester being apart of non-profit IT online team. I went to college right after finishing from Milwaukee Riverside High School High the following fall semester. have not stopped my education because I do not want to realize in the future that I wasted my time. I am excited to meet and work with new people and see how they problem solve. I have lived, worked and remain in Milwaukee my entire life. When I am not doing school work I enjoy to do variety of physical activities. When it is nice outside like to get pickup games of soccer, skateboard or when it is really hot outside, go for a dive into Lake Michigan.

I am a sophomore at UWM majoring in Information Technology and minoring in Business. My interest is in security. This is my first semester in Nonprof-IT and I am excited in gaining knowledge and experience through this internship. In my free time I enjoy working out, playing soccer, and hanging out with friends and family.

Izaac Nguyen

Izaac is a senior in the process of finishing a Bachelors in Information Science and Technology, and a Minor in Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He works a couple of part time jobs currently. He is a Lighting Technician at Van Rixel Productions, and is a contractor for Pelican Bay LLC renovating houses. This is my first time being a part of Nonprof-IT. I am a Student Lead with a small team working with The Parenting Network building a new website, and branding their social media pages. It works well for a future career in Project management which is his goal. Some of Izaac’s hobbies are long boarding, taking long walks, traveling, seeing live music, and finding new music to enjoy.

 

Austin Honeycutt

Austin is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science & Technology and minoring in Computer Science. He is currently working at Northwestern Mutual as a Support Engineer, and he’s excited to use his development and engineering skills to help out The Parenting Network during his first semester in Nonprof-IT. In his free time, Austin enjoys playing music and learning new instruments, a good workout, and finding new taco places to enjoy in Milwaukee.

 

Andrew “Drew” Pubanz

Drew is a Junior at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee majoring in Information Science & Technology. This is his first semester in Nonprof-IT where he is working with The Parenting Network to assist in the redesign of their new website. Along with a more intuitive website, he will assist in video creation for the organization’s YouTube channel. Drew hopes this professional experience will aid in his overall IT knowledge and assist for a worthy cause.

 

Lien Phu

Lien is a Junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology with a certificate in Healthcare Informatics. This is her first semester in the Nonprof-IT program and her group is currently working with The Parenting Network to perfect their website and kickstart their YouTube channel. She is a barista at Starbucks, works at The Princeton Club in New Berlin, and does photography on the side. She hopes that the skills she gains from this degree and her creative eye will guide her to a successful future in the world of IT.

Sara KartolovicSara is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee who is coming from Belgrade, Serbia. She is majoring in Information Science and Technology with a minor in Computer Science and a certificate in Web Development. She is working with Metcalfe Park Community Bridges for her second semester in the Nonprof-IT internship program. Daniel ZambranoI want to merge my business and technology skills, so that I can be an asset to any team in any industry. I am pursuing a Bachelors degree in Information Science & Technology with a Computer Science minor. Outside of class, I am a digital marketing consultant for local businesses, I use my technology and business experience to get results. I look forward to developing a great website with my team for Metcalfe Park Community Bridges. My ultimate goal is to develop a mobile application in the future.

Jamie is also a dedicated IST tutor at the School of Information Studies where he enjoys working with students in solving web related issues. Michael Phillips

Michael PhillipsHello, I’m Mike Philipps a Senior currently attending the University of Milwaukee. I have transferred to UWM from UW Eau Claire where I am looking to complete a degree in IST(Information System and Technology). I have taken a wide variety of classes for programming having a bit of exposure to most languages. I am looking forward to gaining more experience from Non-ProfIT adding it to my experience as I start my career. In my free time I like to head to the gym, go out with friends, and play games on my desktop I built at home.

 

Kelby Fritz

Kelby FritzA Senior at UWM, Kelby is an IST major, working towards also completing his DAC (Digital Arts and Culture) certificate. Kelby is excited to be able to work with Friends of Lakeshore State Park and has past experience in web design working at the Student Affair IT Services on campus. There he helps the Military and Veterans Resource Center and their website, he has also designed mockups for the LGBT Resource Center. Kelby believes that Non-ProfIT will help by adding to his experience and providing another item that he will be able to add to his portfolio. In his leisure time Kelby enjoys kicking butt in Mario Kart, going to the gym and spending time with friends.

I am a junior at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where I am majoring in Information Science & Technology, and I am minoring in Criminal Justice. Along side my Criminal Justice minor, I am also finishing up a Certificate of Crime Analysis. I look forward to using this experience from Non Prof-IT to get a better understanding of developing a web space for a client and working within a team. In my spare time, I enjoy long distance running and sitting in coffee shops listening to music.

Lauren Trotter

Mike Holtzman

Mike HoltzmanMichael is a senior at UWM majoring in Information Science & Technology. He is working to become a front-end developer with a concentration of user interface design. Michael will be working on a team to build a website for the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic, and he is eager to contribute in the redesign of the Non-Profit Organization. This is my first time in nonprof-IT internship and I will be working with Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic. Noah SullivanHey guys! My name is Noah and I am an IST major here at UWM. This is also my first time in the nonprof-IT program. I am originally from Gurnee, IL and hope to eventually move back to Chicago after graduation this semester. I have a very diverse work history since my dad owns his own digital signage company and has had me doing a bit of everything since I was young. I am very excited to be a part of this program because this will be the first time I will be working with my own client that I have to figure out how to accommodate. I spend my spare time with my friends, usually playing video games or something outside if it’s nice. I also love to play tennis so I am always looking for someone to hit with!

Shayna KoudelkaA senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, majoring in Information Science and Technology. This is my first time with nonprof-IT as the team lead working on the website redesign for the Grandmothers Beyond Borders organization. I look forward to further developing my tech skills and having the opportunity to work with a great local nonprofit organization. In my free time I enjoy reading, learning new tech skills, and traveling while experiencing new cultures.

Roger CanfieldRoger is a UWM Undergraduate student majoring in Information Science and Technology. He will be graduating at the end of this semester. Roger also works full-time for Conduent. He is excited to put what he has learned to use while working with nonprof-IT. Along with his major, he has a certificate in Digital Arts and Culture. This will help a lot, when design issues come up in the project. This will be the second client he has worked on a website for, and he is eager to see where this project goes.

Marsurice DeVanHello, my name is Marsurice DeVan I am Junior at UWM. I’ve had a love for designing websites since my freshman year in high school. I have done free-lance work in the past in addition to working at a small web development company that designed web sites for small local businesses. I am working on my BSIST as well as a certificate in Web Development and Healthcare Informatics. This is my second semester in the Nonprof-IT program. At the end of my first internship with Nonprof-IT, I was lucky enough to receive a contract with the nonprofit I worked with and I am now working with their local chapter as well as national organization in web design as well as social media, and various other designs. I’m very excited to see what fortunes this go around will bring.

Augustuniak DavidAugustuniak David: I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee on my last semester. This is my first time in nonprof-IT program and I will be working with the Wisconsin Counsel on Economics. Along with my IST degree, I have gotten a certificate in Digital Arts and Culture along with Health Care Informatics. I look forward to learning a lot about the intricacies of working with clients on a web development project through this experience. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the cinema or playing some (nonprofit) poker matches.

 

Emily BahlingEmily Bahling: Emily is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology and minoring in Psychology with a Digital Arts Certificate. She is working with Artworks Milwaukee for her first semester in the Nonprof-IT internship. Her interest is gaining UX/UI design experience through this internship. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time at the lake in Hayward, WI and flying to Portland, OR to hike.

He has already earned a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from Mount Ida College in Newton Massachusetts. He is working to become a front-end developer with a concentration of UI/UX design. Scott will be working on a team to build a website for the Wisconsin Economic Education Council, and he is excited to assist in the redesign and rebranding of the Non-Profit organization. Kelby FritzKelby Fritz : A Senior at UWM, Kelby is an IST major, working towards also completing his DAC (Digital Arts and Culture) certificate. Kelby is excited to be able to work with Friends of Lakeshore State Park and has past experience in web design working at the Student Affair IT Services on campus. There he helps the Military and Veterans Resource Center and their website, he has also designed mockups for the LGBT Resource Center. Kelby believes that Non-ProfIT will help by adding to his experience and providing another item that he will be able to add to his portfolio. In his leisure time Kelby enjoys kicking butt in Mario Kart, going to the gym and spending time with friends.

Ben C ObinwaezeBen C Obinwaeze: My name is Ben C Obinwaeze, I’m a senior at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, starting to look for roles in the information Technology. As an Information Science and Technology major, I’m fascinated by the way new technologies shape our world. I’ve taken lots of information Technology coursework and have started my intern this semester in school, working with non -profit organization by helping them in creating social media strategies. And now I’d like to put that experience to good use, aligning with the overall organization goals and values.

Faraji StarksFaraji Starks: Faraji is a senior at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology. This is his first time taking part in Nonprof-IT and has been assigned to work on the COPE Services website re-design team. Prior to transferring to UW-Milwaukee to complete his bachelor’s degree, Faraji worked in the nonprofit sector as a Web Services Manager for the Himalayan Institute for nearly two years. Outside of work, one might find Faraji cooking, drinking homemade chai, doing yoga, or playing video games in virtual reality.

Mark Van Weelden: Mark is a Senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology. He is excited to be in the NonprofIT program. Having already gained a well-rounded experience as a student worker at UWM (2 years of Help Desk, 1 year as a Resident Assistant, and 1 year of Web Development) Jesse is eager to further practice his management skills and apply them to his nonprof-IT project as the Team Lead for the Arma Foundation website redesign. His motto as a leader is “lead from the trenches”. Beyond technology, Jesse enjoys studying his foreign language, Japanese, and just recently returned from spending his Spring 2016 & Summer 2016 semester at Hosei University in Tokyo, Japan.

 

nonprofit_profile_schneider_mMonique Schneider: Monique is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Science & Technology, a web development certificate, and digital arts certificate. She lives in West Allis and is currently a delivery driver for a local Jimmy Johns. This is her 2nd semester as an intern in the nonprof-IT program. In her free time, Monique enjoys painting, writing, playing video games, and traveling. Monique is a member of the team working on the Literary Services of WI website re-design.

 

nonprofit_profile_skenandore_kKiera Skenandore: Keira is a transfer student from Illinois currently studying Information Science and Technology at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She is pursuing a minor in Computer Science and is working towards certificates in Web Development as well as Digital Arts & Culture. This is her first experience in the nonprof-IT program, and is a member of the team working on the Bryon Riesch Foundation website re-design. Keira looks forward to using the skills gained from IST coursework to positively contribute to the Milwaukee community. She also hopes to broaden her knowledge and enhance her web development skills through the work for nonprof-IT. Outside of schoolwork, she greatly enjoys art and graphic design.

He is also working towards his Digital Arts and Culture Certificate. He currently works for the School of Information Studies as an IT student technician. This is his first semester in the nonprof-IT program. In his free time, Uny enjoys playing soccer, hiking, or camping. Uny is a member of the team working on the Literary Services of WI website re-design.

 

nonprofit_profile_vasques_eEligio Vasquez Benitez: Eligio is currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science and Technology. He is also working towards his Web Development Certificate. He currently works for UWM University Relations’ Web and Mobile department as a student Web Developer. This is his first time in the nonprof-IT program and he will be working as a team member to redesign Literacy Services of Wisconsin website. In his spare time, Eligio likes walking his dog, reading technology blogs, listening to music, and watching movies.
Spring 2016 Students
Aylin Birlik: Aylin is a senior at UW-Milwaukee pursuing a degree in Information Sciences and Technology and a Health Care Informatics Certificate. This is her second semester being a part of the program. Last fall she was a part of the team that created a new website for the UWM Planetarium and this semester she is a part of the Spotted Eagle website redesign team. In her free time she loves to watch Turkish and German shows to improve language vocabulary. After graduation, she hopes to get a job somewhere in Europe or Turkey.

 

Austin Bricco: Austin is currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology. He is also working towards his Healthcare Informatics Certificate. He currently works for the SOIS department in classroom support on campus. He is looking forward for the opportunity to work in an internship setting and gain more experience towards his degree. When Austin is not working or going to class, he enjoys working out and watching sports.

 

Stephanie Coffey: Stephanie is a senior at UWM, pursuing a degree in Information Science and Technology, with a minor in Political Science. She is employed on campus as data intern for the Career Planning and Resource Center, where she recently created a data import process consolidating national job postings to be made available through PantherJobs for UWM students and alumni. She also works as a mobile application developer intern with UWM’s App Brewery. Stephanie leads the Student Association design and development team in creating a UW system-wide website to provide students with financial aid literacy and resources. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, spending time with her family and friends, and learning new programming languages.

 

Jack Comiskey: Jack is a senior at UWM majoring in Information Science and Technology with a minor in Computer Science and a certificate in Web Development. He sought out this opportunity with nonprof-IT in hopes of learning outside of the classroom and becoming more involved in the community. Jack went to high school in Milwaukee and after some time at the University of Iowa, is back to finish out his degree at UWM. He is looking forward to working with All Hands Boatworks and helping them to improve their presence on the web. In his free time Jack enjoys playing sports, hanging out with friends, playing cards, and drawing among other things.

 

Sam Goerke: Sam is currently a third year student at UWM working towards a degree in Information Science and Technology with a minor in International Studies. He currently works as an Academic Tutor in the SOIS department, as well as a student worker in the Golda Meir Library. This will be his first time with nonprof-IT working as the Team Lead for the Spotted Eagle group. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, geocaching, reading, and all things technology related.

 

Joshua Hazzard: Josh is currently a junior at UWM majoring in Information Science and Technology while pursuing a certificate in Digital Arts and Culture and Healthcare Informatics. He has a passion for Web Development and has been seeking some hands on experience, which led him to The nonprof-IT internship. He hopes to further enhance his skills through this but also give back to the local community something he can be proud of. Josh also has a summer IT internship lined up at MillerCoors which he is excited about. Josh moved to the USA from England in 2012 and enjoys going to the local pub to watch soccer games, as well as adventuring outdoors with his dog and family.

 

Noour Hinnawi: Noour is currently a junior at UWM majoring in Information Science and Technology with a minor in general business and a certificate in healthcare informatics. She currently works as a patient service representative at Aurora Healthcare, and also one of the developers working on the All Hands Boatworks team for nonprof-IT. She enjoys spending time with family and friends when not so busy with school and work! She hopes to gain new skills in teamwork, and working with an organization.

 

Soojin Lee: Soojin is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring Information Science and Technology while also studying for the Health Care Informatics certificate. She is interested in Web Design and Web Development as well as Database Management. This is her first internship in nonprof-IT and she will work as a team member re-designing the Kids Tales website. She is excited to use skills studied in UWM courses and gain useful experience from this project. She likes to spend time with her friends and watching movies in her free time.

 

Justin Liegl: Justin is a junior at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee studying Information Science and Technology with an emphasis on healthcare informatics. This is his first semester in the nonprof-IT program and he is very excited to be the team lead for the Kids Tales team. Justin is currently a front office member for the School of Information Studies along with being a web designer for the Student Success Center on campus. Justin graduated from Pulaski High School but now resides full time in Milwaukee and is currently seeking an opportunity to use his IT skills to benefit a company in the area. He loves sports, relaxing with friends, and learning new skills to enhance his IT portfolio.

 

Shayon Mukherjee: Shayon is a Senior at UW-Milwaukee pursuing his BS in Information Technology and Computer Science (Minor). Shayon has been an active contributor to open source technologies. While in college, he has worked in roles like Google Summer of Code developer and Full Stack Developer-Mentor for Bloc.io. When not attending classes or hacking on latest programming stacks like Node.Js or Angular.Js, he also works as a Freelance Full Stack Web Developer, where he is helping out entrepreneurs and startups build fine applications. Shayon is looking forward to learning more about the workings of a Non Profit Org, collaborating in a team, and expanding his skill-sets by working on new technologies and use the same to build great products.

Garrett Spoke: Garrett is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology. This is his first semester in the nonprof-IT internship, and he’s excited to be a part of the team for the UWM Student Association project. He hopes to expand his knowledge of technology and the use of WordPress through his experience in nonprof-IT. In his free time, Garrett enjoys watching technology YouTube channels, playing video games, and building custom computers.

 

Nathan Trost: Nathan is currently a junior at UW-Milwaukee majoring in Information Science and Technology,and minoring in Computer Science. This is his first time in the nonprof-IT program and is excited to be a team member for the Spotted Eagle team. He is looking forward to getting some hands on experience with web development and web design, while also collaborating with a small team of people. He graduated from Homestead High School in Mequon, and now lives in downtown Milwaukee. In his spare time he enjoys listening to music, snowboarding, and video editing.

 

Jeff Zellner: Jeff is a Second Degree Student currently in his final semester in the Information Science and Technology program. Jeff sought an opportunity to participate in the SOIS Non-Profit Internship to gain work experience in the Information Technology field while simultaneously helping an organization that does important work in our community. Jeff previously obtained Bachelor Degrees in Psychology and Human Development from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and worked in the Mental Health Field in Milwaukee County for the past 13 years. Jeff is the Team Lead for the All Hands Boat Works this semester. Outside of school, Jeff enjoys watching movies, reading comic books, and spending time with his family.

 

Ye Gun Kim: Ye Gun is a member of the team working on a web portal on financial aid and student loan literacy for the UWM Student Association. Ye Gun is an international student from South Korea.
