SOIS MLIS student Minh Phuong Trinh Nguyen has been named a 2019-2020 Spectrum Scholar by the American Library Association (ALA) Office for Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach Services.
The Spectrum Scholarship program, established in 1997, promotes diversity in the library profession specifically addressing the under representation of librarians of color within the current workforce.This highly competitive scholarship is awarded based on a student’s commitment to equity and inclusion, demonstrated community outreach, commitment to the library profession, and leadership potential.
Minh Phuong Trinh Nguyen is one of 60 exceptional recipients of this year’s scholarship.
