SUMMARY:SOIS Research Presentation: Digital Preservation at University Archives in the United States
DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\nArchives are known for their vital role in preserving unique materials. Current advances in technology redefined this role by adding a new responsibility for handling and preserving digital content. University archives dedicate time\, effort\, and sources to conduct digital preservation for their digital collections to ensure future access. There is a need to further investigate how university archives conduct digital preservation and explore the challenges encountered. This presentation introduces a large-scale study that focuses on digital preservation at university archives in the United States. The preliminary findings about digital preservation practices and challenges will be discussed. \nMaali Alghnimi\, Assistant Professor\nDepartment of Information Studies\, College of Social Sciences\, Kuwait University\nWednesday\, April 26th\, 2023 | 12:30 – 2:00pm\nNorthwest Quadrant Building D 3rd Floor\nRooms: 3835 & 3845 / Microsoft Teams\n2025 E.
