Lecturer – Information Science and Technology

The School of Information Studies (SOIS), the iSchool at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), invites applications for a Lecturer position in Information Science & Technology. This is a 9-month instructional academic staff position. Optional summer teaching for additional compensation may be available. This appointment will be on a yearly renewable contract, based on satisfactory performance and SOIS instructional needs. The selected applicant will be expected to teach at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level in one or more of the following areas: application development (e.g., PHP), information security, programming, web development, machine learning applications. Other relevant information technology-related areas also may be considered. The standard teaching load will be four classes per semester. It is expected that the incumbent must be able to start by Fall 2022, but preferably Spring 2022 if possible.

Instructors for the Master of Library and Information Science Program

SOIS is looking for adjunct candidates to teach courses in library science across a variety of disciplines including foundations of library and information science, reference/information services, readers’ advisory, collection management, management of information agencies, public and academic libraries. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate an ability to articulate the value of the profession/MLIS to contemporary society. Candidates should have experience teaching both online and onsite.  Minimum requirement: MLIS degree.
