Microsoft support for Windows 10 ended in October 2025 and UWM IT can only provide extended support updates through October 2028.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-upgrading-to-windows-11\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upgrading to Windows 11<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most university-owned computers across campus have successfully upgraded to Windows 11. However, if you still have a computer that is not running Windows 11, you should \u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/136904\">install the Windows 11 upgrade<\/a>\u202fas soon as possible. To check if your computer is compatible with the upgrade, please use the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/136905\">Windows Upgrade Compatibility Tool<\/a>\u202favailable in the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/42102#OpeningSC\">Software Center<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Computers that cannot upgrade will not be compliant with the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/uw-policies\/uw-system-administrative-policies\/information-security-endpoint-protection\/information-security-endpoint-protection-standard\/\">UW-System Information Security Policy<\/a>\u202fand will be considered obsolete.
