Teams is <em>how<\/em> we work.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From something as simple as chatting with a co-worker online to creating a customized space for a few people to work on shared items;&nbsp;Teams has so many features for content, communication, and collaboration. Only approved devices will work with UWM&#8217;s network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conference-equipment\">Conference Equipment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams conference room equipment is available for purchase via the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/information-technology\/purchase-request\/\">IT Purchase Request Form<\/a> after choosing &#8220;Audiovisual Technology&#8221;. Although the platform itself is HIPAA compliant, it is still the responsibility of the individual to use the platform in a safe and secure manner that aligns with HIPAA compliance guidelines. Further, while the platform is HIPAA compliant, the UWM Information Security Department recommends minimizing the collection and storage of HIPAA-covered data within the Teams environment whenever possible.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\"><strong>Who qualifies for a Teams phone number?<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Teams phone numbers are available for current UWM faculty and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students, student employees, teaching assistants and those in emeritus status are not eligible for a Teams phone number. In addition, employees who are retiring or moving to emeritus status will no longer be eligible for a Teams phone number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about access to Microsoft 365 apps, see the UWM KnowledgeBase article <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/89243\">Microsoft 365 Services Based on Affiliation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\"><strong>What is an individual phone number?<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>An individual phone number refers to a direct number assigned to you as an individual and employee at UWM. This number would be the phone number someone would call to speak to you directly or to leave you a voicemail.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\"><strong>What is a shared phone number?<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>A shared phone number refers to a number that reaches a group of individuals or a department\/location. For example, a phone number shared by multiple employees, the front desk for a department, reception area, or call center.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\"><strong>How do I add or delete people from a shared phone number or shared voicemail? Is it important to do so?<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>It is very important to keep the groups up-to-date for both shared phone numbers and group voicemails. If there are people in the group for your shared phone number or voicemail who are not at UWM, this may cause your shared phone number to no longer work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To request people to be added or removed from a shared phone number or voicemail group, please fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/information-technology\/microsoft-365\/request-forms\/teams-auto-attendant-and-call-queue-support\/\">Teams Auto Attendant and Call Queue Support Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\"><strong>If the internet is down, will I still be able to make\/receive phone calls?<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>If the internet is down, you will not be able to make or receive calls using Teams.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\"><strong>How does 911 work with Teams?<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Within Teams Calling, you are able to make phone calls as you would with any other phone service. With all 911 calls, it is essential that you share your exact location immediately with the dispatcher whether you are calling from Teams, a personal cell phone, or any other device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Calling features only work through Teams if there is power to your computer and it has an internet connection, or if you are using the Teams Mobile App on your cell phone or other devices.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\"><strong>How do new UWM employees get a Teams phone number?<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>After a new faculty or staff member is hired, the process begins to assign them a number in Microsoft Teams. Once the phone number has been assigned, the new employee will receive a Teams Calling welcome email with their phone number and resources for learning to use Teams Calling.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\"><strong>Will my personal headphones work with Teams Calls?<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>If you are using your own headphones, it depends on the device if they will be compatible with Teams Calls.
