{"id":13260,"date":"2025-03-03T15:37:56","date_gmt":"2025-03-03T21:37:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/information-technology\/hpc\/getting-started\/"},"modified":"2025-03-11T16:37:33","modified_gmt":"2025-03-11T21:37:33","slug":"getting-started","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/information-technology\/hpc\/getting-started\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting Started"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<p class=\"size-p-lg\">The High Performance Computing Service support model focuses on providing one-on-one interpersonal assistance as much as possible in order to meet the unique and complex needs of each researcher. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Direct user support is provided by \u201cfacilitators\u201d who specialize in assisting computational research. The facilitators also work with each other as part of the support group in order to maximize the economic benefits of providing a centralized Computing service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a0\">Requesting Access<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty Research Computing resources, such as the Mortimer HPC clusters, are available to all UWM faculty and their assistants for faculty led research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Educational Research Computing resources, such as the Peregrine HPC cluster, are available to UWM students for course work, thesis, and independent research projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Access to the High Performance Computing service can be requested using the form below.
